Dubai – 1000 and one night

We visited Dubai almost one year ago and were so astonished by all the amazing places to see, the people and the whole atmosphere, we want to share our experience with you.

Where we stayed: Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort

How long you need to stay in Dubai: one week maximum

How to get to your hotel: Dubai metro or Taxi

Price level: medium

We planned on going to Dubai for 6 days because we thought it would be enough time to see most common places like Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, the desert, the malls in the city, …

Marie booked the tickets for our desert safari and the city tour beforehand on the internet and got us a special deal so we payed way less than the other people on our trip. During the city tour we had our private guide who showed us around and gave us enough time to see and explore the city’s hidden gems: the Dubai Gold Souk, Old Town of Dubai, Burj Al Arab and Atlantis The Palm.

The desert safari was an incredible experience everyone should share when visiting Dubai! We were a group of around 9 Suv’s and drove around the desert like crazy, it was so much fun – at least for most of us… 😀 You need to handle the dune bashing to be able to enjoy the afterwards dinner in the middle of the desert… You could do different activities like short camel rides, Henna tattoos, trying on the typical Arabian burkas or simply watching the belly dance show.

Buying tickets for the Burj Khalifa beforehand is definitely a must! Otherwise you will have to que up way too long. We decided to go up there in the evening to see the city at night and it was definitely worth it! The view was amazing and the Dubai fountain show gave us the rest… It was a perfect evening!!

The Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort was the best pick we could have made to stay in Dubai. Breakfast and dinner was more than delicious with endless food to choose from. The only negative point was that you had to purchase drinks during lunch / dinner and not even tab water was for free (it was around 36°degrees during our stay!). The pool area was nice to chill out as you couldn’t even go into the ocean, it was too hot…

Our result
– Avoid going to Dubai during July – September because it is super hot and you won’t be able to enjoy your stay (except from being in the hotel pool)

– Buy all your tickets online so you won’t have to wait for hours (plus it’s cheaper)
– Adjust your clothing to the dress code in Dubai to make yourself and the Arabians feeling comfortable
